What a podcast studio actually costs in Lisbon
Most studio websites make you send an email to learn a number. Here are ours, in full, with the tax and the caveats.

Portuguese VAT is 23% and it is almost never included in the headline price you see on a studio site. This is what a session in Alfama costs before and after it.
The three published rates
The podcast and video studio is €450 for three hours, 23% VAT included. Three hours is the standard block because a video podcast realistically needs setup, a recording and a clean exit.
The photography studio is €340 for two hours, VAT included. The DJ booth is €60 for two hours, VAT included, the cheapest way into the building and the one people underestimate.

What the price includes
The room, the gear that lives in it and the time you booked. The podcast set runs Shure SM7B and Rode Procaster microphones, a Sony FX3 for video, Aputure 300D lighting and a DJI RS 3 Pro when a shot needs to move; a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and a Zoom H6 cover multitrack and portable recording.
The photography studio includes Profoto lighting, three paper backdrops, a tether station, a clothing rack and a steamer. The DJ booth includes CDJs, turntables and monitoring, and can be filmed on request.
What is not in the price
Editing, colour, mixing and social cut-downs are quoted per project rather than bundled, because the difference between a raw episode and a finished one with clips is real work and pretending otherwise makes for a bad invoice.
An operator behind the camera, extra crew, catering for a shoot day and anything involving the event hub are also quoted separately. Ask before booking and you get a number back rather than a surprise.
How to spend less
Book the shortest honest block and come prepared. A run of show, a guest who arrives ten minutes early and a decided intro save more money than negotiating the rate ever will.
Record several episodes in one session. The setup cost is the same whether you leave with one episode or four, which is why batch recording is the single biggest lever on your cost per episode.
How booking works
The calendar is live: you pick the room, the day and the hours, and you pay at the end of the flow. There is no quote round-trip for the three studio rooms, and no deposit call.
Events and production work go through a short conversation first, because capacity, timings and scope decide the price.
